FU Money
Your ticket to independence
FU Money gives us options. We want the freedom to ditch our jackass roommates, tell our boss to take this job and shove it, or spend a month on a Greek island we cannot pronounce. Even if we do not do any of these things, we feel empowered because we can. Without a financial cushion, we limit our options to taking whatever job we can find, living in our parents’ basement, or living vicariously through the travel channel if we can afford streaming service.
A lack of financial resources can be caused by our mindset. When we receive a raise or bonus, our initial thought is how we want to spend it: a better apartment, new shoes, a Caribbean vacation. Why are we working so hard? We want the American dream that our friends and neighbors seem to have. We do not realize that many who have all the trappings of a wealthy lifestyle are living under a mountain of debt. Instead of following them to the good life, we are following them to a lifetime of running on the rat wheel to pay for our aspirational lifestyle.
Building the abundant life of our dreams requires a change of thinking. We must take a hard look at our values and what we really want in life. Values are our principles or moral compass that will guide us when making financial decisions. Aligning our values with our spending, we allocate our hard-earned dollars to what really matters to us. If this resonates with you, please join us. I am creating a community of women who want to go against the usual way of thinking so we can build the lives we really want. No dream is too large to achieve and together we can make it happen.
